Information
This article contain information about the accession number and how this is transferred from the worklist server, via the MiraQ and relayed to the PACS server.
Accession Number
Accession Number is a unique identifier created by a departmental information system which identifies the Imaging Service Request. The Accession Number links the scheduled procedure, images, and their resulting diagnostic imaging report, created by the radiologist, back to the original order, supporting both clinical workflow and billing. The Accession Number may group one or more Requested Procedures.
The accession number and study instance UID is included in the information sent from the worklist server. When the operator select and complete the study on the MiraQ, the accession number is included in the study when transferred to the PACS server.
If the operator of the MiraQ create a new study/case for the patient instead of selecting the study received from the worklist server the accession number and study instance UID will not be transferred to the PACS server.
In that case, a new case will be created with the correct patient information, but without the study information from the worklist.
